Joints
Joints known as marijuana cigarettes, are the favourite of many smokers. Numerous smokers will not smoke marijuana any other way.
A joint is made by cutting up bud or leaf and then rolling it into a cigarette shape with roll paper. Some people ad tobacco to their mix. You can roll the joint by hand or using a machine. A small amount of tobacco is usually mixed in with the herb. This helps the joint burn evenly and gives a slight nicotine buzz. It is a fine art to roll a quality joint. People even go to the extra effort and create filters for the joint. A filter can be made with thick paper or thin cardboard. Rip up the paper in strips about 2cm wide. Then fold the paper over and over until you have a bundled piece of paper. Insert the filter at the base of the joint. Then wrap the joint and seal by licking the seam.
When a joint has been smoked down to the point where it is difficult to hold it is called a "roach", paraphernalia exists which is designed to hold the roach without burning oneself.
Etiquette requires you to pass the joint around the circle of friends. If you do not wish to partake pass the joint to the person next to you. "Bogartting", hogging the joint when it comes to you, is a SERIOUS breach of protocol. If you are deemed to be to stoned or hogging the joint, the group may deem that you do not have any more tokes from the current joint. Or expel you completely from the session. Worst case scenario you may not be welcome in the house again.
This may sound harsh, but this un written rule needs to be upheld. Or all the people partaking may not get adequately stoned and a bit ansty!
