The Blue Meanie
The British made Blue Meanie
is, apparently, mean! Some users report
that it’s mean because it gives a good hit,
whilst others report it as being mean
because the temperature control is erratic
to say the least.
This vaporizer is very simple
in its construction and is commonly
perceived as being a direct imitation of the
Little Blue vaporizer, the first dome
vaporizer to be launched, and which we have
already reviewed on this site. Basically,
the Blue Meanie is an 11cm. x 29cm domed
vaporizer in blue, which has a sticker
bearing the legend Pure Hardware on
its side. The sticker itself is quite cool.
You simply switch the Blue
Meanie on, allow it to come to temperature
and then place your herbs on the heating
element that sits inside the glass dome.
Inhale. It is strongly recommended that you
place the herbs on a screen, because there
have been reports that, without using a
screen, the herbs accidentally combust –
thus defeating the whole reason for using
the thing in the first place.
The problem, of course, is
that, not only is there no temperature
control on this little vaporizer, but the
heating element is not the best in the world
either. Because of this, the Blue Meanie
Vaporizer has been known to overheat if used
for long periods without a break, thus it
can become a fire hazard if not switched off
and left to cool down frequently. You are,
therefore, strongly advised to switch this
vaporizer off after every few vaps to
prevent a conflagration. There’s something
a bit dodgy though, about having to rely on
your memory when you have been inhaling
cannabis vapors for a while. Others report
problems with condensation and inefficiency
of the heating element. I suppose, really,
this is a typical British belt and braces
job. Fine if you don’t vaporize frequently
or if you’re on a limited budget but not the
best vaporizer on the market, even at the
cheaper end of the scale.
Speaking of money, at around
$100 this vaporizer is not vastly expensive
but neither is it dirt-cheap. It comes
complete with UK plug. Users have reported
it as anything from ‘one of the best I’ve
ever used’ to ‘get the Little Blue
instead.’ It is, it has to be said, the
best selling British made vaporizer, but
only you can make the choice.
